Fresh Apple Cocktail recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large red apple
- 125 ml ice water
- 50 ml skimmed milk powder
- 15 ml lemon juice
- 5 ml liquid honey
- 10 ml toasted wheat germ
- 125 ml crushed ice
Method

Cut apple into quarters and core but do not peel.

Cut into glass of blender. add all remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. (there will be little dots of red apple skin through the mixture.)

pour into 2 glasses (serves 2).
Fruit and cereal pudding for babies recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp quick cooking rolled oats
- 1 tbsp wheat germ
- 1 tbsp brown rice powder
- 1 small sized apple, cut into cubes
- a small sized banana
- sugar to taste
- milk as required, depending on the consistency wished
- cinnamon (dalchini) powder if desired
Peel, core and cut a small apple and banana into small dices.

Place in a pan with i tbsp. ground oats, wheat germ, and roasted brown rice powder and 3/4 c water.

Bring mixture to a slow boil. simmer covered, checking frequently, until apples are soft and oats, rice flour and wheat germ is cooked.

Be sure to stir and mash while cooking.

Mix in milk when cooked.(sprinkle a bit of cinnamon in the cereal if your desire and if baby is ready for or has had cinnamon)
Fruity Apricot Cookies recipe

Ingredients
- 125 gms butter
- 125 gms brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (dalchini) powder
- 60 gms self raising flour
- 75 gms whole meal self raising flour
- 20 gms wheat germ
- 4 tbsp dry coconut (kopra)
- 45 gms quick cooking rolled oats
- 80 gms chopped apricots
- 60 gms dry apply chopped
- 3 tbsp black currants
- Method
Place butter and sugar in a bowl, and beat till light and fluffy.

Stir in the rest of the ingredients

mix to combine.

Roll in to balls, place on a greased tray, and flatten slightly with a fork.

Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees Celsius.
Wheat Germ Cutlets
Preparation Time: 10 minutes Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 cup toasted wheat germ
- 1 cup soya flour
- 2 potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1 bunch of spinach (palak), chopped
- 1/2 bottle gourd (doodhi / lauki), grated
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 " piece of ginger (adrak), crushed
- 5 to 6 flakes of garlic (lehsun), crushed
- 3 green chillies, finely chopped
- salt to taste
- oil
Method
Press out all excess water from bottle gourd. press out all moisture from spinach, by dabbing in the fold of a napkin.

Take potatoes in a large mixing bowl. add all vegetables, garlic, chillies, ginger and salt.

Sprinkle half soya flour and wheat germ over ingredients.

Make a thin paste of remaining soya flour. add a pinch or salt, keep aside.

Mix all ingredients of bowl by hand, to form a soft lump.

Take portions of mixture, form cutlets shaping as desired.

Refrigerate for 10 minutes, or till required, covering with a moist cloth.

Dip each pattie in soya flour paste, and roll in remaining wheat germ.

Shallow fry a few at a time in a greased skillet, till golden on both sides.

Serve hot with sauce or chutneys.
